Reasons affecting the slow growth rate of piglets

Piglets grow slowly

 

(1) The digestive organs of piglets are in the stage of growth and development. Weaning shortens the length of intestinal villi and deepens the recess, weakens the resistance of small intestinal mucosa, is easy to be damaged by various exogenous protein antigens, and causes nutritional dysentery of piglets.

 

(2) Early weaning may cause imbalance of intestinal microflora and disorder of normal physiological function of gastrointestinal tract.

 

(3) Due to the imperfect digestive enzyme system of piglets, the changes of diet significantly affect the activities of various digestive enzymes in the intestine, resulting in the decline of digestive ability.
